I'm Leslie. Lover of music, animals, the outdoors, and ALL THINGS FOOD :-)
My food journey began when I moved to San Luis Obispo to go to college. Like many other students, I had no idea what I wanted to do and switched majors several times. I knew nothing about cooking, but I was hugely inspired by all the beautiful local produce at the farmers market, so I took up cooking as a hobby in my spare time.
I quickly became obsessed with learning how to make all the foods I loved to eat. I had friends over constantly to try my food and help me make it better. At some point I realized that this was my passion, and that I couldn't imagine doing anything else- so I decided to stop going to college and go to culinary school instead.
I knew that I loved cooking, but I also had a passion for health food and using food as a means of healing. I found a school that specialized in just that: Bauman College in Berkeley. There, I learned all about how to cook for others with specific dietary needs, allergies, illnesses, etc.
Since culinary school, I've moved around following different food industry jobs, but I am now happily home in San Luis Obispo with my husband, obsessed as ever with food, and loving building my passion project personal chef buiness :-)
